Coach Fama played NCAA Baseball for Rhode Island College where he was the team's closer. After a tremendous sophomore season, Coach Fama was invited to tryout in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the summer. Playing in the CBA summer baseabll league in 2007, Fama set a league record with a 0.22 E.R.A. and threw two no-hiiters with 15 strikeouts. In 2008, he played in and was selected to the NYCBL All-Star Team. With a fastball in the low 90's, an effective slider, and a devastating change-up, he was invited to tryout with several major league teams, including the Kansas City Royals and Cincinnatti Reds. By providing pitching mechanical tips and innovative drills to campers throughout each week of camp, Coach Fama has improved the delivery and velocity among players. Specifically, he monitors campers' pre-game throwing routine, arm angle, pitch variety, balance/tempo on the mound, ability to hold runners, and movement on pitches. In addition, Coach Fama directs the Young Prospects Program for players ages 4-5 at the Rising Star Baseball Camp. Coach Fama attended the camp during summers 1999-2000. Eric Fama graduated from New Rochelle HS in 2004 where he starred on both the wrestling and baseball teams. Not only did Eric set school records for wrestling, but he helped lead the baseball team to its best playoff run in school history in 2003 and won the team's opening round playoff game in 2004 on the mound. Currently, Coach Fama teaches health & physical education and is the varsity baseball coach in Greenburgh and also coaches the Varsity Wrestling Team at Yorktown HS. Coach Fama also runs his own strength development, wrestling, UFC, and martial arts school in Mount Vernon, NY.
